ギリシア神話では、エーリゴネー（Erigone、Ἠριγόνη）はアテネのイーカリオスの娘である[1] 。
神話
イーカリオスはディオニューソスに心を寄せ、羊飼いたちにワインを与えた。彼らは酔い潰れ、毒を盛られたと思い、イーカリオスを殺してしまった。娘のエーリゴネーと、彼女の愛犬のマイラ（Maera）が遺体を発見した。エーリゴネーは父の墓の上で首を吊った[2]。ディオニューソスは怒り、アテーナイを罰するために、街の乙女たちをすべて同じように自殺させた。残念なことに、ディオニューソスが教団の一環として、すべての乙女たちに酒を飲ませたことが、その不運を招いたのだ。エーリゴネーは、彼らの不幸を哀れんだディオニューソスやゼウスによって、乙女座とされた[3]。
オヴィッドによれば、ディオニューソスは「偽りの葡萄でエリゴーネを欺き」、つまり葡萄の房の形をとって彼女に近づき、誘惑したという[4]。
