After describing the worship of the goddess [[Rheda (mythology)|Rheda]] during the Anglo-Saxon month of {{lang|ang|Hrēþ-mōnaþ}}, Bede writes about ''{{lang|ang|Ēosturmōnaþ}}'', the month of the goddess Ēostre:
